Freedom is never free. It has been earned by the soldier, and then donated to all of us.” – Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
November eleventh is Remembrance Day here in Canada and Veteran’s Day in the United States. The history books are full of names of heroes who stood for freedom. However, there is a group of people that are overlooked in our remembrance. There are millions of men and women who have been used by God to preserve the truth.
412 years ago The Fifth of November, God performed a miracle that Jesus promised in Matt. 24:35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."Guy Fawkes and Robert Gatsby and six other men planned to Blow up King James I of England and parliament. They dug a tunnel from a Pub and put 60 barrels of gunpowder under the building where the King and all his men were going to be meeting.
God had a man by the name of Francis Tresham discover the Gunpowder Plot and saved the King of England, Parliament and preserved God’s Word, the Bible from being destroyed.
There are millions of other unsung pastors, Sunday School teachers, church workers, evangelists, missionaries; believer’s who are heroes of the faith.
They have faithfully spread the Word of God, standing for the Truth, often not seeing the harvest themselves.
We must remember that the God we serve is a God of love that wants all men everywhere to repent and believe in Him. Ro 5:6 ¶ For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
