UnGodly Unthankfulness

Pastor Conrad
 10/10/2017 09:26PM

Unthankfulness has been a characteristic of the self-sufficient world all along. It was evident before the flood, and at Sodom and Gomorrah. It is one of the prominent factors of any Godless society, but if you read the first chapter of the book of Romans and the Third chapter of II Timothy, they seem to be prophecies of the prevailing characteristics of our society in North America today.

That ingratitude is the result of people who refuse to believe God and reject His Word. When God tells a person what to do and that person refuses to obey, God will withdraw the light he has given with the result of spiritual darkness. They have glorified their education system and claim that they are wise, and even begin to worship themselves. This Humanism is man making God in his own image

The last part of Romans chapter one shows the degeneration of mankind as he turns away from God.

As people reject the spiritual light that God gives them, they get farther and farther away from God and into more and deeper sin. First, their hearts become unclean. This is done in secret, but as it becomes acceptable, it is flaunted. Then their thoughts become shameless and their desires become unnatural. Finally, God “gives up” or “gives over” these people to deeper, darker sin.

The only way to avoid this degradation is to humbly bow before God and thankfully praise and worship Him the way He deserves and desires to be honoured,

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalm 95: 1-3
