Is Your Heart Fearful or Fixed
Many of the things that we read or hear through the different forms of media about the happenings in this world could make your heart fearful of what could happen in the future. The world is looking for someone who could come up with a solution to the economic problems that many of the nations of the world are facing and bring peace to the Middle East and end the fear of terrorism and mass shootings.
Of course there are those who have ideas that they think would solve the world’s problems. The Bible says: “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. Ps 146:3, but the world has rejected the Lord Jesus Christ who could and will solve these problems and will not trust Him because they either don’t know or don’t care that He loved them so much that He shed His blood to pay for their sins. If they know but don’t care that Jesus Christ loves them that is their fault. However, if they don’t know how much Jesus Christ loved them and don’t know of His great grace and mercy towards them that is our fault because Jesus Christ has commanded us to go and tell every creature.
We know that we can trust Jesus Christ with all of our cares and troubles because of His demonstrated love. He loved so much He gave… John 3:16. I wonder if people don’t respond to the love of God because they don’t see it demonstrated in God’s children.
There are multitudes of examples of demonstrated love in the Bible: The widows who gave their last meal or money or material; Mary who gave her best ointment and washed His feet with her tears; The young boy who gave his few fish and a little bread; The disciples who gave their property and personal lives to show others Jesus’ love for them. These were able to give all in love because they experienced Jesus’ love and trusted Him. They weren’t fearful of the future for their hearts were fixed in the love of God demonstrated by Jesus Christ giving His body and His blood as payment for their sin.
How many have trusted Jesus Christ because of “the love of God shed abroad in our hearts by demonstrating His love?
