December 2009 Pen
The ox knoweth his owner,
andthe ass his master's crib:
butIsrael doth not know,
my people doth not consider.
You may think that this is a rather inappropriate scripture for a December article, but if you’ll read through it you will understand how it applies. The twenty-fifth of this month is the day that we set aside to celebrate the birth of the Son of God, the Saviour of the world.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Imagine, God loved Israel so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son to be a sacrifice for their sin. What wonderful love! How blessed the nation of Israel was! Yet they spurned that great gift of God’s love. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:(John 1:11-12).
Jesus Christ never wrote a book, never owned a home or land, never taught at a university, never held a public office, never ran a business, never traveled more than three hundred miles from His birthplace; yet no man has ever made a greater impact on human history. The Entire world dates their calendar by Him. There are more books written about Him than any other human. What fool could dare say that He was just a son of an adultress, or a carpenter’s son, or any other mere human.
Born in a Barn, yet Worshipped by Wisemen
Cradled in Cow feed, but Adored by Angels
Wrapped in Rags, yet Honoured by the Humble
Scorned by the scholars, but Answered with Authority
Lived with the Lowest, yet the Master of Miracles
Cursed by the Cruel, but Preached with Power
Laid down His Life, yet Rose as the Righteous
Gone to Glory, but Returning to Reign!
