Have you ever really meditated on what God’s grace means to you? There is an old adage that says that we never really appreciate things until we don’t have them anymore.
Can you imagine not having clean water to drink or having to carry water from some community well or water hole? Imagine not having any food to eat or trying to breathe and not having air. How would you feel if you had no place at all to get in from the cold or rain and no warm clothing to protect you?
What would you give for eyes to see? How much would you pay for legs that can walk if you couldn’t? Can you imagine what it would be like to live your life without thumbs on your hands?
Now you know how senseless life would be without God’s grace. He has freely given us all things that we need.
(2 Pet 1:3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
All these things that we are blessed with are directly from God because of His great grace, which He sheds on us abundantly whether we love and serve Him or reject Him and rebel against Him. That is why it is so amazing.
So when October 10thcomes around don’t forget to offer God a sacrifice of thanksgiving for His free grace.
Have you ever been around someone who complains all the time about working and never being appreciated? I don’t know what they have to complain about…God does it all the time!
